Day 4 Peer Editing - Students will exchange papers and peer edit the beginning of a classmate's All About Me paper. The editor will make oral suggestions and the author may chose or chose not to make those changes. Once the peer editing is complete, the author may resume writing, concentrating on making a bridge from the beginning of the story to the next event in the sequence.
Read aloud, The Gruffalo, by Julia Donaldson. This book is a great example of word choice and clever sentence writing. Discuss the use of words and rhyme and how it makes the story so interesting. Encourage the students to use "juicier" words as they write their own story.
